Ice and Fire, the Contrasts in the Icelandic Energetic Nature inspire Helga and that is the driving force in her paintings. Water in all forms like in waterfalls, glaciers, ice caves, icebergs, lakes and seas and contrasting volcanic eruptions and flow have kept her attention. Helga’s palette changes from watery blue to volcanic hot colors. Surrealistic Tulips with human characteristics have been her favourite theme for some time. The speciality of Helga’s paintings is the flow and interplay of colors. When she paints she tries to express the atmosphere and the feeling she is sensing for the subject. Helga paints with watercolors and oil colors on canvas, timber and aluminum.
