Jill Orschel has directed three short award-winning films: The Places You’ll Go (Student Emmy), Lakota Workcamp (Spirit Award and Award of Distinction at the Indian Summer Festival), and most recently SISTER WIFE, a documentary about a Mormon fundamentalist who shares a husband with her younger biological sister. SISTER WIFE premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and won a Special Jury Award at SXSW, which included an invitation to Wholphin DVD. It went on to screen at over 20 film festivals nationally and worldwide, premiering internationally at IDFA 2009. Jill received her Master in Fine Arts in Film Studies at the University of Utah, and is currently working as a freelance filmmaker and photographer. She has done photography work with the Sundance Institute, Time and International Documentary and The Robert Flaherty Film Seminar. Jill’s latest project features a young cancer survivor who is passionate about dancing. She lives in Park City with her husband and two sons.
